My name is Amor Serrano and today I will speak to you about the breeding of Marilyn Monroe. She was one of Americas most famous idols. Mrs. Monroe was a huge Civil Rights Movement// Ella Fitzgerald was one of Marilyns idols and inspiration. The Mocambo nightclub in West Hollywood (famous at the time) would refuse to allow Ella to perform there because she was black. ////// Marilyn, extremely upset, told the owners that if they allowed Ella to perform, she would be front tow each time Ella was onstage. When she did this the two women became good friends.Ella said, I owe Marilyn Monroe a real debtit was because of her that I played the Mocambo, a very popular nightclub in the 50s. She personally called the owner of the Mocambo, and told him she wanted me booked immediately, and if he would do it, she would take a front table every night. She told him and it was true, due to Marilyns superstar status that the press would go wild. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front tabl e, every night. The press went overboard.
